Arvil L. Barton Obituary (1926 - 2017)

Arvil L Barton, 91, of Russellville, AR, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at his home in Russellville, AR. The son of Guy and Bessie Warren Barton, he was born July 14, 1926 in Gravel Hill, AR. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. Arvil was an established, reputable business man opening his own tire business in California where he conducted business on a handshake. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Arvil was a member of the Elks Lodge in CA and was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church of Gravel Hill, AR, where he served as treasurer. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching baseball, playing golf, dominoes, and cards. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Billie Jean Barton; second wife Sydna Ruth Barton; infant daughter, Lucy Diane Barton; six brothers; Raymond, Dee, Truman, Warren, Neal and Ralph Barton; two sisters, Abigail Bewley and Mary Hazel Virden. Surviving family members include; his children, Linda (Gary) Wilson and Gary (Anne) Barton, all of the San Francisco, California area; Jacquelyn (Jim) Bonds, Debbie (David) Darr and Bob (Tanya) Smith, all of the Russellville area; seven grandchildren, James Dustin (Angela) Bonds of Russellville, Mikel (Kathryn) Brock of Maryland, Angela (Phil) Kemmer of Russellville and Stacy Wilson, Ryan, Jeff, and Andrew Barton, all of the San Francisco area; nine great-grandchildren, Grayson Bonds, Brandon Brock, Anthony Miedzinski, Nik Miedzinski, Shane Brock, Alyssa Kemmer and Thomas, Liam and Sophia Barton; and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Hattieville Baptist Church. Rev. Jon Scheible, Rev. Dwight Scott, and Rev. Bobby Holyfieldwill officiate. Burial will be at Old Hickory Cemetery in Hattieville, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
