Mr. Christopher Columbus Owens Obituary (1931 - 2018)

Christopher C. "Johnny" Owens, 87, of Town and Country, MO, died Sunday, September 9, 2018 at NHC Healthcare in Town and Country. The son of Jasper and Ella Irene (DeWitt) Owens, he was born April 19, 1931, in Havana. He was a factory worker with Hussmann Refrigeration. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, hunting and looked forward to the family reunion every year. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters and a brother. Christopher is survived by a daughter, Mary Furey, of Overland, MO; two sons, Randy Owens (Trish), Warrenton, MO; Jim Owens, Overland, MO; six grandchildren, Mike Furey (Annette), Union, MO; Michelle Johnson, Bridgeton, MO; Angela McDowell (Jeff), Festus, MO; Randy Owens Jr., Ofallon, MO; Christopher Owens (Jen), Warrenton, MO; Melissa Silverstein (David), Ofallon, MO; 15 great-grandchildren, a sister, Reba Johnson (Donnie) and a brother, Pelham Owens. Funeral service will be 10:00AM, Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Moore's Chapel and burial to follow at Moore's Chapel Cemetery in Waveland, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Randy Owens Sr. and Mike Furey will officiate. Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Friday, at the funeral home.
