Mrs. Nancy Louise Roth Obituary (1940 - 2016)

Nancy Louise Hitzke Roth, 75, of London, died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Legacy Heights Nursing and Rehab. She was born on November 23, 1940 in Chicago to the late Elmer and Lucille Scott Hitzke. Nancy was a 1958 graduate of Downers Grove High School in Illinois. She and Raymond Roth were married on September 7, 1963 in Downers Grove. Nancy was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in the Augsburg Community where she served as Sunday school teacher for many years, song leader and member of the choir, as church secretary and member of various other boards, and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She loved music including playing the guitar and singing and used her talents for 17 years at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home at the monthly birthday parties. She also enjoyed playing guitar at Song Fests, and for her E.H Club. She was member of London E.H. Club, serving in several offices, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Rogers-Rye Post #2283 of the VFW. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert W.O. Hitzke. She is survived by her husband, Raymond H. Roth of London, one son and daughter-in law, Scott William and Regina Roth of London; one grandson, Seth Andrew Roth of Atkins; one sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Dennis Reed of Lutz, Florida; one sister-in-law, Dorothy A. Hitzke of London; 3 nieces, Carrie and Tim Green, London, Cheri and Rudy Villarreal of San Antonio, TX, Lisa and Glen Branham of Belvidere, IL; nephew, Robert Reed and wife Patricia Woodbridge, VA, and several great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives. Funeral service will be at Zion Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 25, 2016 under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Rev. Herb Swanson will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Humphrey Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Gary Hogrefe, Tim Barnett, Bob Battershell, Johnny Waldo, Gordon Higgs and Keith LaMarr. Honorary Pallbearers are Cecil McDaniel and Bob Meimerstorf.
