Stanley R. Cochran Obituary (1954 - 2017)

Stanley R. Cochran, 62, of London, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. The son of R. J. "Gube" and Christine Cochran, he was born June 21, 1954 in San Gabriel, CA. He was a graduate of Russellville High School and Arkansas Tech University. During his academic career, he played football starting in 7th grade through his college years at Arkansas Tech. After graduating he taught Math at Russellville High School. He then served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Somalia during the Somalian Conflict. He retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel during which time he also served at the Pentagon. He continued to serve his country as a civilian working for the Pentagon. He attended the London 1st Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his parents, R. J. "Gube" and Christine Cochran; his uncles and aunts, Charles and Linda Cochran, Lucy Whorton, all of London, and Dorothy and Finas Harmon of Dover; and many cousins and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Humphrey Chapel. Rev Jerry Ferguson and Rev Jeremy Carlton will officiate. Burial will be at East Point Cemetery in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 5-6PM, on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers are George McNeese, Randy Titsworth, Rusty Blaty, Gary Lillard, Bill Huffman, and Curtis Shankle.
