Alba Ford, 92, of Russellville, died Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. The daughter of Chester and Cleva (Teeter) Bowden, she was born November 7, 1926, in Russellville. She was a line worker with Tyson Foods and also worked many years in childcare services. Alba was a member of the Maple Springs Free Will Baptist Church where she enjoyed reading inspirational poems on Talent Night. She enjoyed cooking, especially chicken & dumplings and Thanksgiving dressing, and spending time with her grandchildren and family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James Alex Ford; her parents; her daughter, Gloria Ford; a sister, Athilene Bowden; and a brother and sister-in-law, Bob & Robbie Bowden.
She is survived by her three sons, Ronnie Ford (Paulette), Christopher Ford and Douglas Ford, all of Russellville; three daughters, Anita Adkison (Bobby) of Russellville, Beverly Hay and Dena Ford, both of Pottsville; her grandchildren, Randall Ford, Brian Ford, both of Russellville; Rev. Dr. Stephen Adkison (fiancé Amy Taylor) of Fort Meyers, FL; Kevin Adkison (fiancé Jennie Seitz) of Van Buren; Mark Adkison (Shannon) of Park Ridge, IL; Alicia Connell of Little Rock; Jason Hay of Pottsville; Nicole McGinnis of Fort Meyers, FL; Heather Spears of Bossier City, LA; Issac Ford of Russellville; Justin Shinn (Kayla) of Pottsville; and Jessica Boyd of Salem, OR; her great grandchildren, Hannah Adkison and Joshua Adkison, both of Fort Meyers, FL; Morgan Garrison of Fayetteville, AR; Logan Connell, Gracie Connell, and Joey Connell each of Little Rock; Raegen Ford of Pottsville; Hadley Shinn of Pottsville; Zachary McGinnis of Fort Meyers, FL, Slade and Christian Briar Spears, both of Bossier City, LA; two nephews, Kirk Bowden (Susan) of Bryant, AR, and Buck Bowden of Cabot, AR; and other nieces & nephews.
The family would like thank Crossroads Senior Care, Dr. John Westwood, and the caring staff of Chambers Hospital in Danville for all their help and support to Alba. Funeral service will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Humphrey Chapel. Rev. David Downum and Rev. Dr. Stephen Adkison will officiate. Burial will be at Hoskins Cemetery on Crow Mountain, by Humphrey Funeral Service. Pallbearers include: Randall Ford, Brian Ford, Logan Connell, Isaac Ford, Kevin Adkison, Jason Hay and Justin Shinn.
