David Lloyd George, 75, of Pottsville, died Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. The son of Troy and Marjorie (Hurst) George, he was born September 25, 1943, in Pasadena, CA. He married Shelby Jean (Jones) George, on March 8, 1969, in Oklahoma.
He graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and spent his working career as the Production Scheduling Manger with ConAgra for 40 years, earning numerous safety & attendance awards and advancement opportunities. He was a family man first & foremost, but also an avid golfer. He enjoyed architectural design and carpentry work, as well as working in his yard and tending his gardens. He served his country as a United States Marine. He recently made the decision to surrender his life to Jesus Christ as his personal Savior & Lord, and spent the remainder of his life in the assurance of his eternal home in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, June Robertson; his son, Raymond George; a granddaughter, Courtney George; and his grandmother, Ella George, with whom he was very close.
His survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Shelby George; their son, William George (Louetta) of Pottsville; their daughter, Leeann George of Pottsville; six grandchildren: Jake George of Russellville, Kennith George of Idaho, Garrett George (Jaime) of San Diego, CA, Taylor George and Jillian George, both of Pottsville; seven great grandchildren, and many other nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. No service is being planned.
