Don Windel Hudson, 90, died Friday, July 5, 2019, at the Russellville Nursing Center in Russellville. He was born May 28, 1929, in Moreland to the late Herman Pryor and Eva Pearl (Chronister) Hudson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janan Grace Hudson Taylor, his grandson, Scott Alan Hudson, his sisters, Elaine Hudson Hice, Geraldine Hudson Scarbourough, and Leta Hudson Eszes, and his brothers, DJ Hudson, Clois Dale Hudson, Jimmy Hudson, and his twin brother Doynne Hudson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ila Jane (Janie) (Bowden) Hudson, his daughter, Linda Pearl Hudson (Danny) Davis of Cabot, Gary Don (Bessie) Hudson of Moreland. Grandchildren, Kara Pearl Davis (Scott) Reynolds of Cabot, Daniel Pryor (Amber) Davis of Madison, Wisconsin, Brandy (Chris) Lewis of Ft. Smith, Kyle (Kaylynn) Taylor, and Morgan Taylor of Russellville. Great grandchildren, Kim Reynolds (David} Bartley, Mallorie Hudson, Presley Hudson, Tyler Lewis, Brandon Reynolds, Tori Davis, Ethan Lewis, Karaline Pearl Reynolds, and Mackenzie Hudson as well as a special cousin, Trella V. Chronister and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Don was a member of the Church of Christ of Gravel Hill and was a WWII Navy Veteran, having enlisted when he was 16. He owned and operated Hudson Farms for 67 years and was a lifelong resident of Moreland, Arkansas. From his love of baseball and kids, he helped start little league baseball teams and donated land to create a baseball field in Moreland. He was an avid golfer and checker player. He loved the Razorbacks and his Cardinals.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Arbor at Hudson Cemetery in Moreland, Arkansas on Monday, July 8, 2019, at 10:00AM. Active Pallbearers will be Daniel Davis, Kyle Taylor, Edward Hudson, Scott Reynolds, Brent Taylor and Presley Hudson. Amos Hollis will serve as Honorary Pallbearer. The family would like to thank the administration, nurses, and staff of Russellville Nursing Center as well as the staff of Arkansas Hospice for their thoughtful care.
