Emmitt “Jun” James Brown, 82, of Dover, died Saturday, June 8, 2019, at his home in Russellville. A son of Emmitt James, Sr., and Bernice Gertrude (Murphy) Brown, he was born July 11, 1936, in Pope County. He married Lilly Lucielle (Demoret) Brown, on May 8, 1965, at Dover. He was employed as a carpenter and a glass installer in the construction industry. He and Lucielle worshipped with their faith family at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Emmitt enjoyed the times he spent with family. He loved time spent outdoors fishing, hunting, hiking, and was an especially wonderful gardener. Emmitt was passionate about family genealogy and loved telling stories about family history.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bobby O. Brown; and a daughter, Lora Lynn Warren. Left to celebrate the memories of his life and heritage are his faithful wife and companion of 54 years, Lilly Lucielle Brown; their three daughters, Mona Moody (Mark) of Russellville; Jennie Brown of Dardanelle; and, Robin Smith of Belleville; a granddaughter, Malorie Berry (Will) of Russellville; a grandson, Mark Allan Moody (Valeria) of Lowell; and a great granddaughter, Claire Moody, of Lowell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Rev. Jerry Turner will officiate. Burial will be at Booger Hollow Cemetery in Pleasant Grove by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
