Lorraine Surrette

July 7, 1938 ~ December 24, 2018 (age 80)

Lorraine Surrette, 80, of Dover, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by her family on Monday, December 24, 2018 at her home in Dover. The daughter of Harold and Bernice (Dexter) Beech, she was born July 7, 1938 in Chicago, IL. She was a United States Navy Veteran.  She was a Licensed Practical Nurse with ConAgra and a Licensed Psychiatric Technician Nurse. She also worked at the MARVA Sheltered Workshop. She was a member of the Crossroads Community Church in London. She was also a member of Toastmasters International where she engaged in debate and public speaking. She enjoyed farming, swimming, camping, fishing, bowling, and spending time with family and especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her son, Rex Surrette and wife, Deborah of Russellville; daughter, Lyndia Scott and husband, Michael of Dover; brother, Garrett Beech and wife, Francis of Clarksville; two sisters, Gwendolyn Beech and Sandra Beech, both of Dover; a  brother, Douglas Beech and wife, Brenda of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Jennette Gahlot and husband, Nikki and Samuel Scott, both of Dover, Michelle Mangual and husband, Nobel of Benton, Rachel Willcutt and husband, Cody of Dover, Cristina Newman and husband, Timothy of Russellville, Evonna Surrette of Franklin, TN, Richard Surrette of Bentonville; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, December 28, 2018 at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville.  Rev Glen Schumacher will officiate.  Burial will be at Madden Cemetery in Hickeytown by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will from 5-7PM, on Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the MARVA Sheltered Workshop, 1205 S Arkansas Ave, Russellville, AR 72801. Pallbearers are Samuel Scott, Richard Surrette, Timothy Newman, Nikki Gahlot, Nobel Mangual and Tanner Newman.  Honorary pallbearers are Logan Newman, Aaryan Gahlot, and Aidan Neumeier.  Military Honors will be provided. Internet obituary and on-line guest book are available at www.humphreyfuneral.com.
