Margaret E. Chappell, 93, of Dardanelle, formerly of Russellville, died Thursday, November 22, 2018, at Dardanelle Nursing Center. The daughter of Robert and Belle Caldwell, she was born October 7, 1925, in Harkey's Valley, AR. She worked in the food preparation service at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, and worked in childcare at Shinn’s Daycare for many years. Margaret was an accomplished bowler for nearly 40 years, having won the State 600 Tournament when she was 80 years old. She was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church of Russellville for 52 years. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Herman Chappell; her parents, her first husband, Charles Dale Campbell; and five brothers, Dover Caldwell, Sydney Caldwell, Arvin Caldwell, Chester Caldwell and Everett Caldwell. She is survived by a son, Jimmy (Cathy) Campbell of Atlantic Beach, FL; three daughters, Cheryl Campbell of Dallas, TX, Sandra (Lonny) Greer of Cleveland, MS, and Brenda (Dennis) Wheelus of Russellville; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; and other relatives.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Second Baptist Church, with Rev. Jonathan Whitlock, Rev. Al Ray Taylor, and Rev. Chris Russell officiating. Burial will be at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle, by Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends at 5:00 to 7:00 pm, on Monday, November 26, at the funeral home.
