Margaret Sue Collins, 84, of Russellville, died Monday, April 22, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family and serenaded into the arms of Jesus by her son, Greg Collins, singing “How Great Thou Art.” The daughter of Troy and Rema Kathleen (Morphis) Williams, she was born July 23, 1934, in Pottsville. She married James William “J.W.” Collins, on December 26, 1953, in Russellville. Together, they operated a growing farm for Tyson Foods for more than 40 years. Additionally, she was a excellent homemaker and faithful member of the Moreland First Baptist Church for more than 60 years where she served various ministry roles including church secretary, Sunday School teacher, and VBS teacher. She loved music, singing, dancing, cooking, and making family memories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her infant son, James Troy Collins, whom she has now met for the first time in Heaven. Here to celebrate her life and memory are her husband of nearly 66 years, J.W. Collins; her two sons, Greg Collins (Kathy Wilson) and Jim Collins (Sandy), both of Russellville; two daughters, Cathy Heim (Bob), and Janell Lang (Will), each of Russellville; six grandchildren, Mitchell Barton (Shauna), Amanda Williams (Jeff), Jordan Sowers (Dustin), Rebekah McCraine (Casey), Jamie Collins and Tyler Collins; 20 great grandchildren, and two special cousins who considered one another as “soul sisters,’ Doris Alonge and Ruby Nell Mansell.
Funeral services are 10:00AM, Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Humphrey Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Rick Smith officiating. Burial will be at Paschal Cemetery in Moreland, by Humphrey Funeral Service.
