Zola Kelley Wade, 100, of Conway, formerly of Russellville, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at her home. The daughter of Solomon and Ida Austin Kelley, she was born December 16, 1916 in Hector, Arkansas.
She and Cecil Thomas Wade were married on September 17, 1934 in Russellville and made their home in Russellville and later Pottsville. To this union were born a son, Bobby Joe Wade and four daughters, Joyce, Jewel, Charlotte and Sharon. She was a wonderful example of a Christian mother and wife and was a blessing to all.
Through her faith, she faced life without complaining and with strength and dignity. Her God and her family came first in her life. Speaking of their mother, her children quoted from Proverbs, 31 "Clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughed without fear of the future."
She was a long-time member at 5th & Greenwich Church of Christ in Russellville and later after moving to Conway she attended the Robinson and Center Church of Christ.
She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and playing the accordian. Making quilts and blankets for others, her hands were never idle. She believed in fishing as often as possible, taking her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren with her. She taught herself to play the bass guitar so that she could travel with Cecil and accompany him as they played at Jamborees in the area.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Cecil Thomas Wade; her parents; a son, Bobby Joe Wade, two sisters, ten brothers.
She is survived by four daughters, Joyce Coffman (AL Finnel), West Palm Beach, FL, Jewel Stites (Frank), Monroe, LA, Charlotte Rye (Robert), Fort Smith, Sharon Thomas (Ronnie), Conway; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Wade; 6 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and two more on the way; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, December 11, 2017 at Booher Cemetery in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. James Stein will officiate.
