Carolyn Burkhart, 97, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A daughter of William Edward and Callie Sue Ashe Tanner. Carolyn was born January 17, 1920 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas and a resident of Forrest City of 40 years. Carolyn was a member of Russellville First Baptist Church and a Homemaker. She enjoyed golf, reading and Bible study. During World War II Carolyn was a Rosie the Riveter.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Burkhart, two brothers and five sisters.
Carolyn is survived by a nephew, I.B. Stewart and wife Barbara of Russellville; great nieces, Cheri Russell and husband Ronnie of Russellville and Kim Chumley and husband Mike of Dover; great-great nieces, Kori Huggins, Chandler Russell and Rachel Russell all of Russellville.
Visitation will be from 11am until 12 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Humphrey Funeral Service.
Graveside service and Burial will be at Forrest City Cemetery under the Direction of Stevens Funeral Home of Forrest City. All local arrangements are By Humphrey Funeral Service. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.humphreyfuneral.com
