Mr. Charles Fore

December 27, 1927 ~ February 11, 2017 (age 89)
Charles A. L. "Lindy" Fore, 89, of Russellville, died Saturday, February 11, 2017, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born December 27, 1927, in Keo, AR to James and M. Cecil Prince Fore. He attended Stuttgart High School and graduated from Arkansas Tech in 1951. Charles served in the United States Army immediately following World War II and was an Auditor with the State of Arkansas, serving the Legislative Audit for 25 years.

He was a member of both the Lions and Kiwanis Club of Russellville. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was an original member of the Carden Sunday School Class and enjoyed volunteering with the church youth group. He was a long time supporter of the Arkansas Razorback and Arkansas Tech Scholarship and Athletic programs.

He enjoyed golf and studying Arkansas and especially Russellville History and participating in the Community Leaders Reading Program at Oakland Heights and Sequoyah elementary School.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jane Smallwood Fore.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Fore Vaz and her husband, Theodore H. Vaz of Mandeville, LA; a son, Charlie Fore of Huntsville; a sister, Gladys Fore Ragland and husband, Fred Ragland of Stuttgart; two nieces, Becky Ragland Walker of Sherwood, Lana Fore of Colorado Springs, CO; nephews, Roche W. Fore and J.W. Fore of Denver, CO; and sister-in-law, Kay Fore of Colorado Springs, CO.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Chapel at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service, with full military honors provided by Rogers-Rye Post 2283 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be David Rollans, Wynton Norwood, David Pruitt, Wesley Pruitt, Finley Cranor, Eli Cranor and Keith B. Cogswell. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Stamps, Bert Mullins, Dr. Douglas Lowrey, Dr. Kevin Beavers, Ralph Jones, Clyde Horton, Harvey Young, Jerry Sanders and members of the Carden Sunday school class.
