Mr. Charles M. Webster

January 21, 1924 ~ February 16, 2017 (age 93)
Charles M. Webster, 93, of Dardanelle, died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at
Dardanelle Nursing Center in Dardanelle. The son of Curtis and Lema Thrash
Webster, he was born January 21, 1924 in Ashdown.

After graduating from Ashdown High School in 1942, Charles immediately joined the United States Army Air Force. After receiving training as a top turret gunner on the B-17 Strato-Fortress, he was based with 390th Bomb Group at Frammingham Air Force
Based in Suffolk, England. After completing 28 bombing missions, he returned
home to marry his high school sweetheart, Billie Faye Martin, on June 7, 1944.

Charles worked as a dispatcher with Southwestern Electric for 37 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Dardanelle. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and handcrafting furniture, especially grandfather clocks. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters, Charlotte Kay Mills and Sharon Joy Webster; a brother Debrell Webster and a sister Genelle Corble.


He is survived by his wife, Billie Faye Webster, Dardanelle; granddaughter,
Kathy Horn (Chris), Alma; grandson, Michael Mills (Renee), Russellville;
four great grandsons, Parker Hovis, Zac Horn, Michael Kitchens, Kirk Kitchens;
a half brother, Jim Bob Hambleton; a nephew, Gary Corble; niece, Mary Kay Braden.


Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Ashdown
Cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Rev. Jim Benfer will
officiate. Full military honors will be provided United States Army. Internet
