Finis James Freeman, 76, of Pelsor, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The son of Edgar and Lily (Pellham) Freeman, he was born January 11, 1942 on Indian Creek. He married Shirley Marshall, on September 13, 1963 at Lurton, AR. He was a valve stem operator with Firestone, Inc. He was a devoted husband of 54 years and father. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Lurton Assembly of God where he served as a deacon for 33 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman but his true enjoyment came from being with his brothers and sisters in Christ.He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers-in-law.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Shirley Freeman; his son and daughter-in-law, Rodney James Freeman and wife Bonita; his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Shirl Tennison and husband Teddy all of Pelsor; five grandchildren, Johnathon Freeman, Katelynn Bolin, Miranda Tennison, Kayla Abrams and Kendria Tennison; five great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; step-mother Ava Freeman of Pelsor; five brothers, John Freeman and wife Venitha, Wilburn Freeman and wife Ruby all of Pelsor, E.L. Freeman and wife Brenda of Dover, David Freeman and wife Cheryl, and Wendell Freeman and wife Jennifer, all of Pelsor; sister, Edna Ralph and husband Bill of Clarksville; six sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Lurton Assembly of God Church. Rev. Stan Taylor and Rev. Dean Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be at Coleman Cemetery in Pelsor by Humphrey Funeral Service. Pallbearers are Johnathon Freeman, Matthew Abrams, Kelse Tennison, Andy Bolin, Keith Freeman and Kelvin Freeman.
