Grace Ann Marett Holidy, 72, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at her home in London, Arkansas, after living a full and faith-filled life. She was born to Dale Marett and Myra McKinney Marett (Ashburn) on February 28, 1944 and graduated in 1962 from Navasota High School in Navasota, Texas.
On November 30, 1963, she married Tommy Lee Holidy. Their romance started on a blind date and lasted almost 53 years. Together, they raised two children: Lesley Ann Holidy, now a veterinarian in Waco, Texas; and Dale M. "Rett" Holidy, now a lawyer in Houston, Texas.
Grace was a great wife and mother. She loved reading and teaching the Bible, whether in Bible Study Fellowship, Vacation Bible School, studies with friends or to her family. She enjoyed working in the yard, and everyone loved to eat her cooking. She was full of life with an infectious laugh and a love of adventure.
Survivors include: her loving husband of nearly 53 years, Tommy Holidy of London, Arkansas; her daughter, Dr. Lesley Holidy of Waco, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law, Rett & Kristy Holidy of Houston, Texas; and three sisters: Libby Ashburn of London, Arkansas, Laura Ashburn Duckworth of Navasota, Texas, and Ann Ashburn Leazer of Sachse, Texas.
Graveside services are pending to be held at Oakland Cemetery in Navasota, Texas by Nobles Funeral Chapel of Navasota, Texas. Memorials may be made to Main Street Mission, 1110 E. 2nd St., Russellville, AR 72801. Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville, Arkansas.
