Mr. Harold Metz

July 4, 1927 ~ May 25, 2016 (age 88)
Harold Metz, 88, of London, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. The son of James and Phoebe Carpenter Metz, he was born July 4, 1927 in London, AR. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and served in the Army of Occupation in Germany. Harold worked for 22 years as the parts manager with Ford Motor Company. He was a lifelong member of the churches of Christ, including the Church of Christ in Vancouver, Washington, West Side Church of Christ and 5th and Greenwich Church of Christ. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School Bible Classes, especially in the Old Testament. Harold was an avid photographer and enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and building furniture. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary Lee Bailey Metz, and a brother, Raymond Metz.

He is survived by his wife, Lou Ella Johnson Metz, London; son, Robert Metz and wife Karen, London; 3 daughters, Donna Evans and husband James, London, Cheryle Sullivan and Carl, North Little Rock, Susan Poulos and husband, Pano, Springdale; grandchildren, Pamela (Charles) Smith, Searcy, Mary Evans, London, Christopher Evans, Lincoln, NE, Gary Metz, Russellville, Rob (Junella) Metz, Crow Mountain, Candice Sullivan, Magnolia, Jordan Sullivan, North Little Rock, Nicholas (Tavia) Poulos, Oklahoma City, OK, Joshua Poulos and Savannah Poulos, both of Springdale; great grandchildren, Payton, Douglas, Keith, and Jane; stepson, John Johnson and wife Judy, Russellville; stepdaughters, Maria and husband Bill Bolin, Russellville, Linda Bethel, Appleton; step grandchildren, Ronnie Bethel, Donnie Bethel, Jeremiah Bethel, Tiffany Smith, Rhonda Cristy, Billy Bolin, Clay Johnson, Sarah Fitzgerald, Vicki Hurley, 15 step great grandchildren; and his brother, T.A. Metz, London.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Humphrey Chapel, Russellville, AR. Dan Lightfoot will officiate. Burial will be at the Bailey Family Cemetery in Mill Creek community by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Monday, at the funeral home.
