Hilliary Joan Tagart Miller, Age 82, of Russellville, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on July 1, 2017. She was born in Texarkana, TX on October 17, 1934 to the late Katie Mable Tagart and The Late Harold W. Tagart. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Russellville. She was a school teacher and a Gifted and Talented Coordinator for 45 years. Most of her teaching was done in Arkansas include elementary schools in Texarkana and as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator for 16 years in Norphlet. She also taught in American schools in Tehran, Iran, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Milano, Italy. She loved traveling, camping, arts and crafts including portrait drawing, calligraphy and Scherenschnitte. She also loved playing the piano, organ, church pipe organ and mountain dulcimer.
She gradutated from Arkansas Senior High School with the class of 1952. She served as the band's drum major. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She received her Gifted and Talented Certification from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Eddie G. Miller; her children, Kirk Miller of Monroe, LA; daughter, Kathryn Williams and her husband Craig Williams of Russellville. Also six grandchildren, Brian Miller, Hilliary Blakley, Katie Massey, Casey Williams, Caitlin Coran, and Callie Barkley; and five great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; and a son, Brian Casey Miller.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Burial will take place at a later date at Memorial Gardens in Texarkana.
