Imogene Taylor

May 9, 1925 ~ March 8, 2018 (age 92)
Imogene Taylor, 92, of Russellville, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. The daughter of Calvin and Alice (Thomas) Brown, she was born May 9, 1925, in Lexa, AR (Phillips County). She was a 1942 graduate of Barton High School. She married Jim Taylor on September 6, 1947, at Clarksville, AR. Jim knew from the moment they met, that her value was far more than rubies and he had full confidence in her. She truly brought him good all the days of her life.

She was a charter member of the West Side Church of Christ where she served as an elder's wife for 36 years. Imogene was a devoted servant, both to her Lord and to her home church. Family and faith were at the center of her life, and she was determined that her children would not only be in church but also that they would develop and manifest their own faith. Her children said of her that "she exemplified in every way the virtuous woman described in chapter 31 of the book of Proverbs, that she was clothed with strength and dignity, and that although she was a person of few words, when she did speak, it was with grace wisdom and determination." She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, James (Jim) Taylor; and a daughter-in-law, Bert Taylor (late wife of James Herb Taylor).

She is survived by two daughters, Rita Pritchett (Tim) of Lubbock, TX; and, Anita Neff (Clyde) of Lubbock, TX; two sons, James Herb Taylor (fiancé Roberta Kitterman) of Russellville; and Phillip Taylor (Judi) of Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Pritchett Andrews (Lane) of Bentonville; Jennifer Taylor Almond (Nathan) of Van Buren; Rachel Pritchett Crow (Brad) of Lubbock, TX; Sarah Pritchett Nelson (Kevin) of Aledo, TX; Lisa Taylor Moseley (Jason) of Rogers; Alexander Neff of Plano, TX; and Leah Taylor of Costa Mesa, CA; sixteen great grandchildren, Ethan, Noah, & Summer Andrews; Cade, Kelton, Maddie & Kylan Almond; Macey, Abbie & Garrett Crow; Caleb, Anna & Ryan Nelson; and Charlie, Kami & Jax Moseley.
