Jerald Eugene Heathcoat Obituary (1931 - 2018)

The son of Otis and Hazel (Price) Heathcoat, he was born November 12, 1931, in Old Bethel (Pope County), AR. He served over five years in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Following his Naval service, Gene worked in the restaurant business in California and later as a chef for Brown's Country Inn and the downtown Italian Gardens in Russellville for many years. He was a member of the Rogers-Rye VFW Post #2283. A year ago, Gene surrendered his life to Christ and associated with the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Clara Brown Heathcoat; two brothers, Hershel L. Heathcoat and William H. Heathcoat; and a sister, Juanita Armstrong. His survivors include a son, Jerald Heathcoat (Rita) of Rialto, CA; a daughter, Lauree Freeman ("Junior") of Hesperia, CA; four grandchildren, Jacob Heathcoat (Joanna), Jennifer Heathcoat (Robin), Amber Rodriquez (Ralph) Ashley Freeman & fiance Christian, all of California; six great grandchildren, Joey Rodriquez, Cole Heathcoat, Gracie Heathcoat, Prynne Heathcoat, Luanna Freeman, and LoganFreeman, all of California; a brother, Charles Heathcoat (Martha); and a sister, Ruby Nell Martinez, both of Russellville; as well as many other nephews & nieces. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Humphrey Chapel, officiated by Shane Kasper and Al Brown. Burial with full military honors will be at Bethel Cemetery in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am, on Saturday.
