Jesse Lee Cossey

October 10, 1922 ~ August 24, 2018 (age 95)
Jesse Lee Cossey, 95, of Dover, died Friday, August 24, 2018, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. A son of James and Lillie Bell (Cross) Cossey, he was born October 10, 1922, in Atkins. He is married to Raechel Edra (Coffman) Cossey of Russellville.

Mr. Cossey was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, having served the 727th Amphibious Tractor Battalion in New Guinea, the Netherlands, the East Indies and the Philippine Islands. He holds decorations & citations for his service in the American Theater, Asiatic-Pacific Theater, the Philippian Liberation and earned the Good Conduct and Victory medals. Following his service career, he was a maintenance supervisor in the oil & gas industry in Oklahoma. He attended the Pleasant Grove Assembly of God Church and Booger Holler Tabernacle where he worshipped His Lord & Savior in playing the guitar and singing Gospel music. He greatly enjoyed fishing, and feasting on all-you-can-eat buffets and church fellowship pot-lucks.

Mr. Cossey was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, LaEuna (Larue) Cossey; a son, Bobby Lynn Cossey; and a grandson, Ronald Dean English. He is survived by his wife, Raechel Edra (Coffman)Cossey; his daughter, Joyce Elaine English (Bobby Dean) of Bartlesville, OK; a brother, Lonnie Cossey of Dover; his niece & caregiver, Maxine Finlay of Russellville; four grandchildren, Melissa Thornbrugh (Charles), Danny English (Beverly), Mindy Erickson (Bill), and Scott Cossey (Heather); and many other relatives.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Humphrey Chapel. Rev. Jackie Pledger and Sister Mary Ledford will officiate. Burial will be at Pollard Cemetery Association in Dover, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, on Monday, at the funeral home.
