John and Virginia Page will be interred at Owens Cemetery, Bull Frog Valley, AR, on May 5, 2017. A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Virginia B. Page, 83, of Geneseo, IL, died Friday, June 17, 2011, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Extended Care Unit, Geneseo.
Virginia Jean Burnett was born December 7, 1927, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Raymond and Katherine (North) Burnett. She graduated High School in New Orleans and attended Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. She graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, with a degree in child development. Virginia earned her master's degree in psychology from National College, Evanston, IL. Virginia was Nursery School Director at Community Presbyterian Church, Mount Prospect, IL, and later worked as School Psychologist Consultant at Allendale School, Antioch, IL.
Memberships included Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo, and Rose Circle of the church, and former member of the Illinois School Psychologists Association. Virginia was a volunteer at the Geneseo Historical Society and Hammond-Henry Hospital.
John M. Page, 90, of Geneseo, IL, died on Friday, October 14, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
John was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Bullfrog Valley, AR, the son of John William and Eunice (Ladd) Page. He graduated from Dover (Arkansas) High School in 1943. John served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. John graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, and had an MBA from Roosevelt University, Chicago. On Oct 1, 1949, he married Virginia Burnett in Galesburg, IL.
John worked as a cheese factory superintendent in Batesville, AR, and then for 38 years for Morton Salt Company, Chicago, in sales
and marketing. He also held a two-year elected seat on the Mount Prospect School District 57 Board of Education. John retired to become the Historian for the Mount Prospect Historical Society. He moved with his wife to Geneseo in 1997.
Memberships included Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo; Geneseo Kiwanis Club; and Hayden's Hikers. John was a volunteer for the Geneseo Historical Society, and a former member of Institute of Food Technologists, American Marketing Association, and North American Paul Tillich Society (of theologians). John spent a lifetime of learning through his commitment to Christ.
Survivors of John and Virginia include a daughter, Carolyn (Jerry) Webb, Cordova, IL; two sons, John Michael (Julie) Page, Cary, NC, and Daniel (Dawn) Page, Montara, CA; grandchildren, Dick (Kuan-jung) Page, Jim Page, Mike (Deborah) Webb, Matthew Webb, and Jackie (Troy) Tisthammer; and great grandchildren, Hannah, Logan, and Jackson Webb; Levi and Caleb Tisthammer; and Jill and John Miles Page. Virginia is also survived by her sister Barbara (Richard) Mussett.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carolyn Burnett and granddaughter Anna Webb. John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Anita Page, brothers Wayne and W.D. Page, and granddaughter Anna Webb.
