Mrs. Juanita Hunt

March 12, 1935 ~ January 27, 2016 (age 80)
Juanita Hunt, 80, a resident of Russellville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, surrounded by family and hospice.

She was born in Greeneville, Tennessee, in 1935, to Ruble and Anna Hensley. She attended nursing school in Enterprise, Alabama and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She married E. L. Hunt Jr., in 1970. After E. L. retired from the military, they made their residence in Russellville.

Juanita provided day care in her home for many years. After retiring from child care, she spent most of her time volunteering with Pope County Hospice, Pope County Senior Center, Main Street Mission and Meals on Wheels. She loved spending time helping patients at the local nursing homes and hospitals, making lap blankets and crocheting caps for newborns. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Russellville for 35 years where she participated as a Sunday school teacher, AWANA leader, Nursery care, Mothers Day Out and mission programs.

Cherishing her time with family, Juanita enjoyed preparing meals, especially international dishes she learned from family members and from her many travels throughout her life. She liked to sew, quilt, crotchet and other arts and crafts. An animal lover, she rescued many wounded or abandoned birds, squirrels, opossums, skunks and raccoons, nursing them back to health and releasing again to the wild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2011; and two brothers, Claude Hensley and Kenneth Hensley.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Elke Baker, Ken and Yong Baker; three daughters, Pam Beheshti, Paula Bragg, and Trish Hunt; a step-son, Tripper Hunt; seven grandchildren, Shawna Huffman, Shelly Brown, Cyrus Beheshti, Crystal Baker, Justin Baker, Sabrina Baker and David Baker; 11 great-grandchildren, Jenna, Willis, Piper and Maddox Brown, Kaelyn and Rylee Huffman, Lenora Baker, Tristan Baker and Lucas Meek, and Andrew and Ryan Beheshti; and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Humphrey Chapel with Pastor Greg Sykes officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Willis Brown, Troy Brown, Wesley Osterdock and members of the Berean Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service on February 4, 2016, in the chapel.

As an expression of sympathy, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 2405 East Parkway, Suite 3, Russellville, Arkansas 72802 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
