Lewis Collins, 88, of Russellville, AR, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at St.
Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. The son of Leon and Bessie
McQuary Collins, he was born August 30, 1928 in Scottsville, AR. He was a
United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War.
Before retiring from Firestone, Lewis was the Chief of Police for the city of Russellville, a Deputy for Pope County, and was instrumental in starting the Pope County Ambulance Service. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Lewis had several hobbies including mechanic and body shop work, fishing, spending time with his family, and playing music. He was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Mae Collins; his parents; a brother, L.B. Collins; two sisters, Orene Duvall and Bobby Wiggins.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Collins (Ella) of Dover, Mike Collins (Leslie) of Dover;
a daughter, Carol Collins Hurlbut (Mike) of Russellville; four grandchildren, Casey Collins of
Dover, Courtney Hudson (Matt) of Russellville, Spencer Hurlbut of Russellville, Dalton Lewis (Rachel) of Dover; sister, Audrey Pearl Holley of Pottsville; sister in law, Lavada Storment of California; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
