Mary Lou Carpenter, 92, of Ozark, AR, formerly of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at her home in Ozark, AR, after an extended illness. The daughter of Jeff and Cora Self Gunter, she was born December 28, 1924 in Pope County, AR. She attended Indian Creek School in her younger years. Mary Lou was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and a wonderful inspiration to all who knew her. She was a member of the Church of Christ Clarksville. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Carpenter; her parents; an infant daughter; son, James Carpenter; and several siblings.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Donna Randolph (John) of Ozark;
two great grandchildren, Alicia Finney (Josh) of Ozark, Christopher John Randolph of Columbus, GA ; three great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, August 21, 2017 at Owens
Cemetery. Bro. John Randolph will officiate. Burial will be at Owens
Cemetery in Dover, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from
2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, on Sunday, at the funeral home.
