Mary Helen Story, age 91 of Russellville died on Wednesday, February 28th at Arkansas River Valley Hospice Home. The daughter of the late John Dorman and Rachel Williams Bailey, she was born in the Cross Roads community, near Appleton on February 26th 1927. A graduate of Hector High School, she was a long time employee of International Shoe Company and Frolic Footwear. She was a loving wife and mother, and faithful friend and caregiver to many; throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Story, her parents and 6 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzann Story of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Lillie Story of Russellville; three grandchildren, Emily Floyd of Russellville, Raya Mars of London and Jonathan Story of Crow Mountain, as well as three great-grandchildren; all of which she adored. Graveside funeral services were private and held Friday afternoon at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville.
Special thanks to members of the St. Mary's Hospital Intensive Care Unit, and the professionals at Arkansas River Valley Hospice Home; including Dr. Robert Thurlby, who provided her care, and went above and beyond to make her transition to the next phase of her life a painless and peaceful one. These angels walk among us each day, and deserve our prayers and respect.
The family held a private service per Mary's wishes at 2:00PM, Friday, March 2, 2018 at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville. Rev Rick Smith officiated.
