Professor Michael A. Link, Ph.D., 79, of Russellville, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. The son of Milton and May Kewen, he was born April 19, 1937 in Detroit, MI.
He attended Henderson State University in Arkansas and was a lineman on the "Reddies" football team. He graduated from HSU with a Bachelor and Masters Degree of Science. He later received his Doctorate of Philosophy Degree from Mississippi State University in 1966 and the Protestant University of Paris in France in 1976.
He was a professor of history and an advisor at Arkansas Tech University. His accomplishments included teaching the students of Arkansas Tech for over 50 years and becoming a master of the French, German, Latin and Bulgarian Languages.
He was a member of the European Section of The Southern Historical Association and was of the Episcopal Faith. He enjoyed teaching, advising Tech students, authoring historical novels and reading. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include numerous family members and friends
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Humphrey Chapel. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Military honors will be provided.
