Madge, Loving mother, cherished grandmother and great grandmother, passed into the arms of her heavenly father on January 1, 2017.
The eldest child of Ernest James and Jesse Stark Myers was born in Dover on November 5, 1921. Madge was a lifelong resident of Dover until 2006, she then moved to Clovis, California to live with her daughter Judy.
Madge's Husband of 63 years, Ray Luther Jackson preceded her in death as well as her parents and five siblings. She graduated from Dover High School in 1940, where she developed at thirst for reading. She took all seven of her children to the library weekly and challenged them to dream through books. Most of the children are avid readers today.
Madge was a member of Clovis Community Church. Madge's hobbies included making and supplying thousands of bookmarks annually to the local library. Her keen eye for color led to a new hobby at age 93 of starting the adult coloring books, and was excellent at it.
Madge's seven surviving children are daughters, Judy Standridge, Phyllis Motley and husband Leon, Raylin Sauer and husband Bill, Betty Wadler and husband Harold; sons, Ronnie Jackson, Ernie Jackson and wife Linda and the youngest Robert Jackson. She has sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and eight great- great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 am Monday, January 16, 2017 at Humphrey Chapel with Bro. Rick Smith officiating with burial in McFadden Cemetery in Dover under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the funeral home.
