Ava Lee (Hicks) Freeman, 86, left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Johnson County Regional Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville. She was born May 18, 1934, in Mt. Judea, Arkansas, to Lee Hicks and Pearlie (Dotson) Campbell. She married Edgar Freeman on October 15, 1950, and together they raised seven children until his death in 1997.

Ava Lee (Hicks) Freeman, 86, left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Johnson County Regional Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville. She was born May 18, 1934, in Mt. Judea, Arkansas, to Lee Hicks and Pearlie (Dotson) Campbell. She married Edgar Freeman on October 15, 1950, and together they raised seven children until his death in 1997.
Ava was a homemaker and known for her sewing abilities where she made several dresses for the singing Hampton and Chisum Families and an abundance of quilts. She was also known for her gardening and canning and her ability to cook a meal in no time. You never left her house hungry. Ava also loved to attend Falling Water Church.
Ava was proceeded in death by her parents; her late husband, Edgar Freeman; two sisters, Reba English Stuckey, and Tina Gregory; and one step-son, Finis Freeman.
Survivors include: Wilburn and Ruby Freeman (Pelsor), E.L. and Brenda Freeman (Dover), David and Cheryl Freeman (Pelsor), Wendell and Jennifer Freeman (Pelsor), John and Venitha Freeman (Pelsor), Edna and Bill Ralph (Clarksville) and Shirley Freeman of Pelsor; a brother, Kingston Campbell, of Dover; and one Sister, Mina Fuller, of Missouri; 16 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and numerous Great-Great Grandchildren.
A private family graveside & burial service will be held at Coleman Cemetery in Pelsor on Saturday, January 23, 2020, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Internet obituary and online guestbook are available at www.humphreyfuneral.com.
