It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Benjamin "Benny" Qualls, a beloved member of the Dover community. Benny, a 45-year-old owner, operator, and general contractor of Qualls Construction, left us on April 4, 2023, at Dover. Born on January 29, 1978, in Russellville, to Benjamin Harrison Jr. and Loyal Dee (Allen) Qualls, he was a cherished son, husband, father, brother, and friend.
Benny's marriage to his loving wife Christina Lynn Clayton Qualls on September 16, 2000, in Hector was a beautiful union filled with love and devotion. Benny loved spending time with his family and friends, and his children held a special place in his heart. Hunting with them was a cherished pastime, along with precious memories of playing music and singing in the evenings at home. His absence will be deeply felt.
Benny was a man of faith and a proud member of Gideon's International and Scottsville Word of Life Assembly. His untimely death is a great loss to these organizations, as well as to his family, friends, and the community. He has a servant’s heart and was full of generosity that blessed many people throughout his years.
Benny was preceded in death by his father, but he leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by many. He is survived by his beloved wife, Christina Qualls, and their two children, Benjamin Rylan Qualls and Delaney Kate Qualls, all from Dover. Benny's mother, Loyal Dee Qualls, and four sisters, Kay Powell (Jeff), Cindy Wells (Randy), Regina Crocker (Joe), all from Dover, and Deanna “Dee” Lange (Greg) from Harrison, mourn his passing deeply. He is also survived by his father-in-law Galen Clayton from Hector, his mother-in-law, Louise Rackley from Jerusalem, and his grandfather-in-law Roy Gene Clayton from Tilly; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A funeral service will be held in honor of Benny's life on April 7, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Scottsville Word of Life Assembly, officiated by Rev. Arnold Humphrey and Rev. Kenny Partain. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Pollard Cemetery in Dover arranged by Humphrey Funeral Service. Friends and family may pay their respects on April 6, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Those who wish to make a donation in Benny's memory may contribute to Gideon's International. Benny may be gone, but he will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. An online guest book and obituary are available at www.humphreyfuneral.com.
