Betty Armstrong, 89, of Russellville, went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 7, 2020 at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville. The daughter of Ellis and Merle (Tate) Jones, she was born December 10, 1930 in Washington, MO. She worked as a beautician for many years and also was a senior’s fitness instructor. Betty was always willing to help others no matter what her health was at the time. She was a member of the Windsong Church in Maumelle where she helped with community projects. She enjoyed shopping for antiques, jewelry, gardening, and she never missed an episode of Law & Order. She also enjoyed babysitting her grand-dog, Gizzy or “Izzy” as she fondly called her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aarol Winfield Armstrong; her parents; and a brother, James T. Jones.
Survivors include her son, James "Jimmy" Armstrong wife, Amanda Leonard Armstrong of Russellville; daughter, Carolyn Armstrong of Little Rock; grandchildren, Krysti Freyaldenhoven, husband Sam of Tampa, FL, Madison Shilling Cason, husband Luke of El Dorado, Mackenzie Shilling, Marley Shilling, Watson Shilling, all of Russellville; nieces, Helen Shinn, husband Phillip of Little Rock and Linda Moores, husband Jerry; and nephew, Winford Armstrong, both of Tampa, FL; and numerous extended family members.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Kyler Cemetery in Batesville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Brother Rick Domerse will officiate. Internet obituary and on-line guest book are available at www.humphreyfuneral.com.
