Brock Ian Calvert, 32, of Russellville, died Friday, April 14, 2023, at his home. He is now riding a tour bus down the streets of gold to be reunited with family and friends in Heaven. His family will visit with friends on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 9:00 AM in the chapel of Humphrey Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM with Rev. Scot Crenshaw will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
The son of Jimmy and Penny Gayle (Summers) Calvert, Brock was born December 6, 1990, in Russellville. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Calvert; his paternal grandparents, Victor & Mildred (Cantwell) Calvert; and his maternal grandparents, James Summers and Barbara Rozier Tisdale.
Family members and friends surviving Brock include his mother, Penny Calvert; his brother, Zach Calvert (Brittany); his best-friend brother, Richard Cleary, both of Russellville; two uncles: Michael Calvert of Pine Bluff; John Summers (Barbara) of Whitehall; an aunt, Jamee Schilling (Jeff) of Bossier City, Lousiana; and five cousins: Chris Calvert, Tiffany Short (Travis), Barbara Chadwick (Hank), Matt Summers (Faithe), and Dustin Summers (Maggie).
Brock attended Crawford Elementary and graduated from Russellville High School in 2009. He was very involved in the band and loved playing percussion. Following graduation, he took classes at Arkansas Tech University. Music was his true passion, and he was a phenomenal drummer, playing in multiple bands throughout his life. Being a musician, he enjoyed anything music-related and loved all styles of music.
To know Brock was to love him, and he was loved by so many and very seldom met a stranger. Brock could relate to anyone and had a heart of gold. He loved his family so much, especially his nephews Jaxon & Jasper Calvert. He also found great joy in the love and companionship of his canine family, Emma and Bolt. His faith was an important part of his life, and loved attending the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church in Russellville with his family.
