Donald attended College of Ozarks, Arkansas Polytechnic College, and received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Arkansas.
Mr. Adams had a clear and purposeful life calling: to serve Arkansas farmers and he did so faithfully for 35 years as an agronomist with the University of Arkansas Extension Service. He received many state and national awards and recognitions for his years of crop research and agricultural scientific publications. His field service and assistance to Arkansas farmers were his greatest joy and reward for his years of research. Donald joined Arkansas farmers to significantly increase yields of many crops; he also provided counsel and hands-on guidance to international agronomists to help increase world food production.
Donald was a church deacon and participated with church youth groups. He actively served as a judge and mentor to many young people in the Arkansas 4-H and Mid-South 4-H Clubs. After retirement, Don and Margaret moved to Russellville to enjoy the beauty of their beloved state of Arkansas and to teach his grandchildren about the wonders of nature. Mr. Adams passed away after several years of living in assisted living and nursing facilities. The family is greatly appreciative of the kindness and care given by the staff of these facilities.
Donald Adams will be laid to rest at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas following a private service on May 20th, 2020 by Humphrey Funeral Service. Online guestbook is available at humphreyfuneral.com.
