Glenna Sue (Bibler) Boland took her Heavenly flight on Monday, August 10, 2020. She was born to Glenn and Arabelle Bibler at Scottsville, AR on June 11, 1936.
She attended her early grades of elementary school at the Scottsville School House, then later at Hector when the schools were consolidated. She was a graduate of Hector High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in science from Arkansas Tech University and a Master’s Degree in Family and Consumer Science (Home Economics, at the time) from the University of Central Arkansas.
She spent her entire teaching career in the Hector School District as Home Economics Teacher and teaching various other science classes. She had a genuine love and concern for each and every one of her students. In return, they had respect and admiration for her. She was loved and admired by her students, fellow teachers, parents, and community.
In 1974, she gave up her teaching career to become a full-time partner with her husband, Bobby, on the family farm where they raised their children and grew cattle. She enjoyed life on the farm as well as sewing, cooking, gardening, and actively participating in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of Hector First Baptist Church. She participated in Sunday School, VBS, and choir. She was very proud of her children and the education that they had attained. She always held education in very high esteem and always stressed to her children that no matter where they went in life, their education was something invaluable that could never be taken away. Even after her retirement from education, she still served a term on the Hector Board of Education, still encouraging and supporting others in the field of education.
Glenna leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Bobby Boland; son, Brent Boland and wife Andrea of Hector; daughter, Dr. Rena’ Taylor and husband Jerald of Russellville; 4 grandchildren: Bradley Taylor and wife Stacie of Russellville; Garrett Taylor and wife Jordan of Hector; Carter Boland and Everleigh Boland of Hector; and 5 great-grandchildren: Jeb, Whit and Gracie Taylor of Russellville; and Blaine and Arianna Myers of Hector; and one sister, Donna Bibler Grossnicklaus of Ventura, CA.
