Irma Louise Droske (Bruemmer), born in Oklahoma City, OK to Henry Frederick Bruemmer and Sarah Bessie (Campbell) on August 25, 1926, and baptized by Rev. Dr. Alfred O. Fuerbringer, went to meet her Lord at the age of 95 on January 3, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She married Arno Franz Droske on December 28, 1944, in Houston, Texas. They had 71 wonderful years together. They had two children during their marriage. Terry William Droske (1946) and Denise Louise Blair (1956). She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her son, Terry William Droske and wife Susan, her daughter, Denise Louise Blair and husband Kenneth, her five grandchildren Aimee Blair Benedict and husband Chris, Sarah Blair Ross and husband David, Michael Droske and wife Nalini, Katie Walz and husband Eric, David Droske and wife Tara; ten great grandchildren, Emily Roberson, Jacob Roberson, Sarah (Libby) Roberson, Ainsley Roberson, Jackson Ross, Adelaide Ross, Charlotte Ross, Claire Droske, William Droske, and Ella Walz; two great great grandchildren, Bailee Roberson and Luna Wildcat.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Rudolph Henry Bruemmer and Paul Otto Bruemmer, sisters Dorothy Bessie Bewley, Edna Marie Telschow, and Evelyn Elsa Bobo, and a great granddaughter, Abigayle Roberson.

She was a lifelong Lutheran and lived her life for God and family. She studied scriptures all her life, even during her last days.

Keeping to the spirit of her wedding song with Arno, “Don’t Fence Me In,” in 1968, she was the one to scout out, locate, and purchase the rural land on a mountaintop in Dover, AR where she and Arno would build a log cabin and live 35 years of their lives, from 1980 until Arno passed in Dec 2015. There, she and Arno maintained a huge vegetable garden, orchard, and chicken house at their home.

She loved cooking, and baked a room full of Christmas cookies and treats almost every holiday season, much to her family’s delight. She was very social and heavily involved in church life. She was part of a quilting group with fellow church members at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Russellville, AR and took part in creating beautiful quilts to be donated to those in need. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren all have hand embroidered Christmas stockings and Christmas tree skirts that she created. She also created intricate handmade greeting cards out of paper for her family and friends.

She had a great love for nature, especially birds, and was constant in her keeping her bird feeders always full. She went on several birding trips with her sister Evelyn to Arizona’s Sonoran Desert, including Medina Canyon, Bosque, Patagonia, Tuscon, and Ramsey Canyon, and documented all her bird sightings throughout her life.

She loved to enjoy life, and enjoyed German beer, fishing, and to dance the polka.

She also lived for her friends, who kept her active and happy throughout her life, and her open heartedness and love knew no boundaries. We will miss her joyous smile and her warm hugs.

Memorials can be made to the Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center Drive, St. Louis, MO. 63141.
