Jackie Sue May, 82, of Lowell, Arkansas, formerly of Russellville, died Friday, April 15, 2022, at Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Humphrey Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gary Thomas will officiate. A private burial will be at Robertsville Cemetery in Jerusalem, Arkansas by Humphrey Funeral Service.
The daughter of Leonard and Eathel (Williams) Anderson, Jackie was born September 13, 1939, in Russellville.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Slate (Clinton) of Lowell; a son, Gary May (Angie) of Hernando Beach, FL; six grandchildren: Corey Slate (Isabel), Lenard Slate (Michelle), Caleb Slate, Dustin May, Amber Jones (Brandon), & Will Krum (Amanda); and seven great-grandchildren: Javier Slate, Alice Slate, Emily Slate, Ana Slate, Haven Krum, Emerie Krum & Sunny Krum.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Havis Anderson, Darrell Anderson, Bill Anderson & Leonard Bell Anderson, Jr.; and two sisters: Inez Bramblett & Frances Handley.
She grew up in the Pleasant View community and was a graduate of Russellville High School, later earning her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from West Ark Community College. She worked for more than 20 years for Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lowell and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
