Jane Y. Blankenship, 90, of Dover, Arkansas, formerly of Lakeland, Florida, passed away, Monday, October 11, 2021, at her home. The daughter of Charles and Dora (Wood) Yoder, she was born May 26, 1931, in St. Albans, West Virginia. She married Michael Blankenship, on May 2, 1999, at Lakeland, Florida. To her family, Jane was a devoted wife and beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
During her working career, Jane was a High School Guidance Counselor and later joined the Retired Teachers Association. She was active in the Daughters of the America Revolution, served as a Museum docent for the Polk County Art Museum, the Ringling Brothers State Art Museum in Florida and member of the Engineering Wives Club. Jane was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Lakeland, Florida, where she was active in the Vanguard Sunday School Class. She enjoyed traveling, art, music, being a student of her Bible, walking on Lido Beach, volunteer work and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Virginia Spurlock.
Jane is survived by her husband, Michael Blankenship of Dover, AR; her two sons, Mark Jameson-Lee of Lakeland, FL and Paul Jameson-Lee of Elkhart, IN; three grandsons, two great grandchildren, with another one on the way; and, her sister Rose Mary Spurlock of Birmingham, AL.
