Jane Hamaker Kitt, 84, of New Braunfels, Texas, formerly of Russellville and St. Charles, Missouri, died Sunday, September 19, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Clifford Eugene and Mary Hazel (Falls) Hamaker, she was born December 16, 1936, in Pottsville. She married Richard A. Kitt on March 9, 1957, in Russellville, with whom she has treasured their 64 years together.
Jane earned her bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech University, and a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas. She was Professor Emeritus at St. Louis College of Pharmacy and a member & past president of her local chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Her two greatest pleasures in life were spending time with her husband and soulmate, Richard; and growing flowers.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara Peters; a daughter, Cynthia Anne Kitt; and a grandson, Cole Kirkwood Kitt.
She is survived by her husband, Richard and their daughter, Erin Kitt both of New Braunfels; two sons, Michael Kitt of Albuquerque, NM and Brian Kitt (Amy) of Wichita, KS; a sister, Linda Reasoner of Pottsville; four grandchildren: Summer Walton, Will Walton, Adam Kitt & Nathan Kitt; and two great grandchildren: Hazel Villa & Hayden Villa.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Pottsville A.R. Presbyterian Church. Rev. David Downum will officiate. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am.
