Jerry Don Hardin, 72, of London, Arkansas, died Sunday, May 14, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. A time of visitation is planned for Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 6:00 – 8:00 pm, in Humphrey Funeral Home Chapel. Jerry’s funeral service will be Thursday, May 18, at 10:00 am, in Humphrey Chapel with Chaplain Paul Northcutt officiating. Burial will follow at East Point Cemetery in Russellville.
The son of Walter and Blanche Arabell (Standridge) Hardin, he was born June 20, 1950, in Sikeston, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Joyce A. Goodell & Shirley Mae Hathcock; and a brother, Billy Ray Hardin.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Jeremy Hardin (Ashlea) of London; and John R. Goodell of Pelsor, Arkansas; three daughters: Jessica Hughes (Roy) of London; Katelyn Wren (Daniel Scherff) of Russellville; and Sacha Martin of Russellville; a niece, Tammy King of Hot Springs; his life-long love, Shirley J. Hardin of London; and nine grandchildren: Jayden Hardin, Marlee Hardin, Kylea Hardin, Layton Hughes, Landon Hughes, Aislynn Wren, Kailee Wren, Leon Wren and Malique “MJ” Martin.
Jerry was a retired Law Enforcement Officer, having served as a patrolman with the Bernie Missouri Police Department, the Dardanelle Police Department, and the Yell County Sheriff Department. He became the Chief of Police for Ola, Arkansas, and was later an Investigator for the Arkansas Department of Transportation. Jerry was of the Pentecostal faith, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, Bingo and baseball. He cherished every moment to spend with his grandchildren and until his health declined, he was at every event and activity they were involved in.
