Juanita Faye (Pitts) Ragsdale

September 18, 1932 ~ May 8, 2022 (age 89)


Juanita Faye Ragsdale, 89, of Russellville, died Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway.  Her celebration of life and ministry will be Friday, May 20, 2022, at 10:00 AM, at Humphrey Funeral Home & Chapel.  Visitation with her family is Thursday, May 19, 2022, 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service on Friday at Owens Cemetery in Dover.

The daughter of James Edgar and Rhoda Mabel (Galentine) Pitts, she was born September 18, 1932, in Hagarville, Arkansas. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, George Franklin Ragsdale; a sister, Mary Sue Pledger; and her baby brother, Albert Pitts.

She is survived by her son, David Ragsdale of Menlo Park, California; her daughter, Karen Tinder of Dover; five grandchildren: Melissa Tinder of Dover, Stephen Tinder of Russellville, Mark Tinder (Tarra) of Arkoma, Oklahoma, Julia Ragsdale of Seattle, Washington, and Blake Ragsdale of San Jose, California; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Tinder of Arkoma; three brothers: Dorman Pitts (Dean) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Wayne Pitts (Liz) of Clarksville, and Glen Pitts (Wanda) of Hagarville; and two sisters: Sharon Johnson (Gerald) of Lamar, and Belinda Harris (Junior) of Hartman.

Sister Juanita served with her late husband as pastor, preacher, and evangelist with the Assemblies of God throughout Arkansas.  They pastored the Casa Assembly of God and in her later years, she enjoyed serving with the Pleasant Grove Assembly of God.  She loved the Lord with all her heart and held a deep passion for the work of His Kingdom.  Preaching, teaching, singing the Word of God, and playing musical instruments were the legacy of her life as she fulfilled her calling in ministry and missions.

She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.  They hold meaningful thoughts & memories about her creative gifts with arts & crafts, the careful way she kept her lawn and flower beds manicured and beautiful, and especially the incredible meals she lovingly prepared for her family and friends.
