June Tippit, 92, of Casa, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021, with her family at her side. Born on June 11, 1928 in Casa, Arkansas to Walter and Bertha Crawford Coats, she was the youngest of three children.

She married her first husband, William “Bill” Luttrell, and they had four children. After his death, she married Hollis Dale Tippit on February 7, 1956 and they had one child. June and Hollis were married for 51 years until his death in 2007.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, sister Lola Biggs, and brother Harvey Coats; husband, Bill Luttrell and children, Sheila Kay Pogue, Kerry Luttrell, Marla Field and Jan Parker; husband, Hollis Tippit, and a very special granddog, Vegas Tippit.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Ginger Tippit, of Russellville; six grandchildren, Jeff Dacus (Dessie) of Dardanelle; Brandon Luttrell of Corpus Christi, TX; Ken Luttrell (Susie) of Oklahoma City, OK; Dale Payne (Josie) of Casa; Joe Lee Compton of Little Rock; Dr. Danielle Tippit (Dr. Omar Dajani) of Little Rock; seven great-grandchildren, Justin Dacus; Dylan Brixey; Cheyenne, Kolten and Dalten Luttrell; Zava and Kyra Payne; special friend, Cheryl Coates; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

June was a member of the Casa Church of Christ. She was a devoted college basketball fan and avid supporter of the Lady Razorbacks. Outside of basketball season, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She was kind and compassionate and loved by all who knew her. She was a strong, independent woman and the matriarch of our family. All were welcome in her home at any time, day or night.  Most importantly, she always made us laugh, prayed for us continually, and made sure that we knew we were loved.

The family would like to thank Dr. Maneetha Kodali for her care over the past few years, as well as Arkansas Hospice for helping us to honor June’s wish to remain at home in her final days.

Funeral Service will be Monday, March 15, at Humphrey Chapel.  Burial will be at Casa Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service.  Come and go viewing will be 12-4 PM, on Sunday, at the funeral home. Internet obituary and on-line guestbook are available at

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Casa Cemetery (P.O. Box 124, Casa, AR 72025), Southern Christian Home, or the charity of your choice.
