Karen Sue Nixon, 77, of Russellville, died Thursday, September 10, 2020, at her home. The daughter of Willard and Violet Mable (Schuller) Siecgrist, she was born October 12, 1942, in Lawrence, Kansas.
Karen was a beautician when working outside the home. She loved animals and supported many organizations that sheltered abandoned pets for adoption. Being a devout Christian and holding a firm Biblical conviction for God’s chosen people, she regularly supported various causes that provided ministry to the Jews and the nation Israel through her church family at Russellville First Assembly of God. She enjoyed sewing and always sewed her own clothes; making crafts; and in the early years of her life growing up in California, she enjoyed horses and local rodeo where she frequently rode in the color guard.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; and her two late husbands, Buddy Garner and William Thomas Nixon. She is survived by her son, Daniel Garner (Sandra) of Batesville, AR; her two grandchildren, Travis Garner (Alyssa) and Justin Garner (Paige) both of Batesville; and two great-grandchildren, Brinley Garner and Levi Garner, both of Batesville; and another great grandson on the way.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. A family-late memorial service will be announced at a later date.
