Leonard Otho Elliott, Jr., age 92, of Russellville, died peacefully at his home Friday, May 21, 2021. A son of Leonard Otho Elliott, Sr., and Evelyn (Smith) Elliott, he was born February 9, 1929 in Dover.
Leonard was a Korean War veteran in the United States Army. Leonard and Betty Virden (Maggard) Elliott were married April 24th, 2004. Leonard worked for AP&L (now Entergy) reading meters for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and collecting antique objects of every kind. He attended Harmony Grove Free Will Baptist Church for many years.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Betty Virden (Maggard) Elliott; his parents; brother, Lynell Elliott; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Chilton and Carroll Weir; and a great-nephew, Joel Elliott.
He is survived by three sisters, Freida Davenport (Jim), Russellville, Jane Chilton, Dover, and Jean Weir, Russellville; two sisters-in-law, Judy Elliott, Dardanelle, Juanita Barber (Charles); four nephews, Kyle Elliott (Margaret), Dover, Bryce Davenport, Russellville, Buster Elliott (Stephanie), Dardanelle, Kevin Barber (Alexis), Russellville; two nieces, Angie Evans, Dardanelle, Brenna Davenport (Derek Leigh) of Nashville.
Visitation with Leonard’s family will be 4:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday, May 24, 2021 at Humphrey Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10:00AM, Monday, May 25, 2021 at Humphrey Chapel and burial following at Hudson Cemetery at Moreland under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Pastor James Chronister of Harmony Free Will Baptist will officiate.
