Lyndell Wayne George, 88, of Dardanelle, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. The son of Leonard George and Georgia (McGuran) George, he was born July 16, 1934, in Belleville. He married Elaine Kay Anderson on December 12, 1959, in Great Falls, MT. He was retired from the United States Air Force and a veteran of the Vietnam war. He also was retired from Tyson Foods. He had a passion for nature photography, especially capturing the beauty of cardinals. Lyndell also took great pride in caring for his yard and garden, spending countless hours mowing and tending to the flowers with Elaine.
Lyndell's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He treasured every moment with them, relishing in the simple pleasure of having them over for a meal. Grilled sausages with peppers were always available for a snack, and he would chuckle with delight as people took on the spicier ones. He loved nothing more than watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren run and play in his yard, their laughter filling the air around him. And when the men of the family gathered outside, he would happily join them, sharing an ice-cold Rolling Rock and swapping stories. Lyndell's quiet nature, laugh, and big hugs will be missed the most as they always made you feel loved and at home.
Lyndell is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elaine George of Dardanelle; three children, Kim Brown and husband Jon of Russellville, Kevin George and wife Shelly of Glen Rose, and Teri Merritt and husband Chris of Dardanelle; eight grandchildren, Brandy Humphrey and husband James of Russellville, Carlee Brown of Fayetteville, Joey Brown and wife Erin of Van Buren, Kristen Beck and husband Blake of Fort Smith, Aryn Merritt of Dardanelle, Zack George and Jessie George, both of Glen Rose, and Mead Fonnesbeck and wife Emily of Grand Rapids, MI; eight great-grandchildren, Max Humphrey, Makenzie Kate Humphrey, Autry Brown, Parker Brown, Jude Brown, Georgia Brown, Waylon Fonnesbeck, and Wyatt Fonnesbeck; a brother, John George and wife Carol, and k-9 best friend, Sunny.
