Marlin Young died April 1st, 2022, at Wadley Regional Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born to Edward and Elsie (Hogins)Young at London, AR on October 3rd, 1938. He married Lolita (Minyard) Young of Russellville, Arkansas and were married for 54 years. He is survived by his wife Lolita and three children; Gaylon (Susan) Young of Forney, Texas; Kimberly (John) Pigeon of Russellville, Arkansas; Betty (Robert) Wright of Hope, Arkansas. Marlin is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; Hannah, Nathaniel, and Rachel Young of Forney, Texas; Jeananne (James) Coon of Russellville, Arkansas and Josie Pigeon of Thornton, Colorado; Emma Wright of Hope, Arkansas; Anastasia Coon of Russellville, Arkansas. He is survived also by two sisters; Hattie Belle Terral of Russellville, Arkansas; Lou (Ted) Boster of Russellville, Arkansas and countless number of nieces and nephews. Marlin is predeceased by his parents Edward and Elsie Belle Young and six brothers and four sisters.
Marlin served in the Air Force from 1959-1965. He then began working for Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years as a welder. Upon retirement he began to travel with his wife Lolita in their motorhome. They became gate attendants for the Army Corp of Engineers for ten years at Dequeen Lake in Dequeen, Arkansas. Marlin loved to camp, fish, travel, cheer on the Razorbacks, tell funny jokes and play cards or games with the friends and family members.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Marlin's life will be held on Thursday April 7th, 2022, at 11am at Humphrey's Funeral Home in Russellville, Arkansas.
