Michael Wade Sass, 53, of Dover, Arkansas, died Sunday, April 2, 2023, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The family will hold visitation with friends at Humphrey Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be Thursday, April 6, 2:00 PM, at Dermott City Cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Ben White will officiate.
The son of Thomas and Judy (Morman) Sass, he was born March 8, 1970, in Dermott, Arkansas. He married Kathy (Evans) Sass, on December 30, 1998, in Lake Village, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Thomas James Sass. His survivors include his wife of 25 years, Kathy; his daughter, Samantha Lorreign Sass of Kelso, Arkansas; two sons: William Rush of Tucson, Arizona; and Benjamin Rush of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two grandchildren: Tristyn Rush & Sawyer Albertson, both of Morrilton, Arkansas; a brother, Thomas “Dale” Sass of Watson, Arkansas; two nieces: Brittany Dupwe (Jason) of Kelso; and Kinsey Sass of Monticello; a nephew, Bradley Sass (McKinsey) of Kelso; two great nephews and one great niece.
Michael worked as a corrections officer for 20 years before joining the Local Union 360 of Clarksville, Arkansas, where he served on their Board and worked as a journeyman laborer in the maintenance industry. He loved to deer hunt and everything about cars. Most of all, he enjoyed making friends and grandkids laugh and enjoy life together.
