Tommie Mackey Wheeler, 91, of Russellville, AR, died Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Stone Bridge Assisted Living in Russellville, AR. The daughter of Thomas and Jessie Allen Robertson, she was born August 8, 1930, in Charleston, Arkansas. She and her husband Blynn owned and operated Mackey's Grocery in Moreland in the 1960’s and 1970’s. She was a long-time member of Woodlawn Free Will Baptist Church. Tommie’s commitment to her Lord was evident to all through her servant's heart and devotion to the daily study God’s word. She also enjoyed gardening, and treasured spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Blynn Mackey, and second husband, Jim Wheeler; a grandson, Douglas Mackey, and infant son, Douglas Scott Mackey; brother, Butch Robertson; 3 sisters, Ledean Brown, Mabel Proctor, and Juanita Davis. She is survived by 2 sons, Ricky Mackey (Verna), Russellville, Ted Mackey (Martha), Russellville; 3 grandchildren, Tayler Bain, Russellville, Justin Mackey (Lindsey), Collierville, TN, Stacie Williams (Chris), Bryant; 3 great-grandchildren, Emma Claire Mackey, Jaden Williams, and Alyvia Brooklyn Bain.
The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Free Will Baptist Church at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. The funeral will follow at 2:00pm under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service, with Rev. Jerry Burris officiating. Pallbearers are Justin Mackey, Dustin McNeal, Darron Robertson, Eddie Proctor, Steve Hartzell and Monty Wheeler.
