Obituary

Vernon "Bimbo" Clayton, 72, of Paris, Arkansas, died Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Paris Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  A graveside service will be Friday, June 24, 2022, at 10:00 AM, at Pollard Cemetery near Dover, Arkansas.  Rev. Jackie Pledger and Rev. Clint Craig will officiate.  Burial is under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

The son of Earnie and Vesta (Standridge) Clayton, Vernon was born December 27, 1949, in Pelsor, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Dennis.

He is survived by a sister, Virginia Lucene Collins of Dongola, Arkansas; three nieces, Sherie Chisum (Doug) of Hector; Melissa Noe of Gilmore, Texas; and Crystal Dennis of Atkins; one nephew, Clyde Collins (Carol) of Hector, and many other relatives.

Vernon was a line worker with the Tyson Foods Dardanelle Processing Plant in Dardanelle for 15 years.  He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Assembly of God where he often served as usher.   He loved to fish, watch squirrels, and listen to Gospel music.
