Vicki Sue Hensley, 73, of Dardanelle, went to her eternal home, Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in Little Rock. The daughter of Clifford Dilley and Edice (Pivonka) Dilley, she was born October 6, 1947 in Dodge City, KS. She married Doug Hensley on April 30, 1966 in Dodge City, KS. She was a member of the Dardanelle First United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing and worshiping her Lord.
Vicki was a homemaker for many years, raising her children and attending school functions from sports to band performances. After Ty and Ivee were grown, Vicki and Doug worked side by side for many years at their custom sheet metal company, where she managed the office and worked as bookkeeper. Later, she served as the Chief Deputy Collector for Yell County. She was also committed to her community, serving as president of Chickalah Area Ladies Association. Vicki and her fellow members were responsible for organizing local events and fundraisers, as well as preparing meals for the volunteer fire department. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, fishing, and especially, playing with her grandchildren. Vicki will be remembered for her smile that went on for days and laughter like sunshine as well as being a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her son, Reagan Hensley; her parents, and brother, Larry Dilley.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 55 years, Doug Hensley of Chickalah; son, Ty (Liz) Hensley of Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Ivee (Will) Lowry of Gulf Shores, AL; four grandchildren: David, Alyssa, Norah Grace, and Clelie Meryn; three sisters: Sharon, Avon, & Nona; and numerous extended family members and friends.
An open visitation will be held from 8am – Noon on Saturday March 20th, 2021 at the funeral home.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, March 20th, 2021 at Chickalah Hill Cemetery on Mountain Loop in Chickalah by Humphrey Funeral Service. Pastor Jim Benfer will officiate. A reception at the Chickalah Community Center will immediately follow the graveside service.
